Day 16 - Take Our Picture!

"Thank's Sis.  You are getting pretty good at this stuff."

Paige is still happily helping out around the house.  She sure loves her little brother.

Day 15 - Mommy's Big Guy.

"Hey, there beautiful.  How you doing?"

Mommy's Big Guy.  It is still a little hard to see in these pictures, but Leevi is pretty tall.  Especially when he stretches all the way out.  It will be interesting to go for the one month check-up and see how he is doing.

Day 14 - As the Pillow Turns.

"Zzz."

He's still sleeping.  A lot.  All the time (except when he's eating.)

Day 13 - As the Food Turns

"Glub, Glub"

He is still eating.  A lot.  All the time.

Day 12 - I'm a BREWER Fan?

"Wait, wut?  Nobody told me I was a Brewer fan!"

Leevi, you might be in for a lifetime of disapointment.  What with being a Brewer fan and a Vikings fan...(The latter is still under review.)

Day 11 - Sleep With One Eye Open

"You're still there, aren't you."

Had some really nice late afternoon southern window light to work with today.  Always fun.  Leevi seems to have inherited Valerie's interesting trait of sleeping with one eye slightly cracked open.  You can never really tell if Valerie is asleep if you don't know what to look for.  It will be interesting to see if it continues or if it is short term in Leevi.

Day 10 - Where's the Milk?

"Where's the Milk Dad?  Where's the Milk?"

Ok, so normally I wouldn't be all about the pacifier, but we need an intervention.  I swear Leevi is a bottomless pit.  He is 10 days old, and already drinking 3 1/2 ounces at a time.  Every 2-3 hours. All day, all night. We needed to try something to space the feeding out a little bit.  Kid is gonna eat us out of house and home.

Day 9 - Monkey Friends

"I feel like somebody is watching me."

No story on this one.  Just a photo of a kid with a monkey on his overalls.

Day 8 - Baby Cleaners

"Ahhh, nice and warm."

It was bath day at the Haapala household.  Paige didn't quite understand why Leevi couldn't just play in the tub with her, but after a few minutes, she didn't care too much.  Leevi enjoys a good bath, so long as you keep him warm.

Bonus Photo:

"Quack!"

Plus bath time means warm towel time too.

Day 7 - A Walk in the Park

"I'm good.  Don't worry about me."

Leevi went on his first adventure to the park today.  He didn't quite get the appeal.

Day 6 - Shark.

"No way, I'm not even a week old yet, and IT ... IS... SHARK WEEK! Rock on."

OK, so this was actually a yawn, and not him expressing his jubilation about shark week (which started August 12).  Pretty sneaky of the shark to look so friendly.  We all know he isn't fooling anyone though.

Day 5 - Eyes of Dusk

"I see you..."

We took advantage of the absolutely gorgeous weather we have been having, and spent the evening outside in our yard.  Leevi is finally starting to open his eyes for more than just a moment or two at a time.  They are still very dark, and I think it takes 2-3 months before they really change (trying to recall with Paige, but I don't think her's were ever this dark.  [Edit: Wrong.  Day 3.]

Day 4 - Blanket (the blanket, not the Jackson)

"I like the blanket."

Auntie Jane brought Leevi a nice soft blankie to go with the alligator blanket from Paige.  Lucky kid.

Day 3 - Mother's Little Helper

"Thank's sis.  I was really hungry."

Paige has been nothing short of wonderful with her little brother.  She even volunteered to feed him a few times (despite saying she didn't want to because she was nervous).  Still not changing of poopy diapers yet, though.  (She also said she didn't want to do that either).  Leevi has quite the appetite.  He is eating between 2-3 ounces every 2-3 hours already.  I don't remember how much Paige ate when she was so young, but I don't think it was that much.

Day 2 - Momma, I'm Coming Home.

"Ahh,  this is the life.  I'm so happy to be here, but let's blow this Popsicle stand!"

Leevi is happy and doing very well.  He passed all of his tests in the hospital with flying colors, so they let us take him home.  We had plenty of visitors, and Leevi was content as can be.  The only time he really fussed was when they had to prick his heel for some blood tests.  That did not go so well.

Bonus Photos:

We joked with Paige that her brother might be an Alligator Baby.  We saw this little alligator blanket, and it was the perfect gift for Paige to give to Leevi.  Hopefully he will like it as much as Paige loves her "kitty" blankets.

Day 1 - And so begins the story of Leevi Roger

At 8:45 a.m. on August 9, 2012, Leevi Roger was born. He was 8 pounds, 11 ounces, and 21 1/2 inches tall.   He joins his big sister, Paige Julia, on this wonderful journey (and photographic one).  I decided to keep their blogs separate, and hopefully keep up with Paige's as well.

Welcome to the world my little buddy,  we can't wait to spend this journey with you.

Love Mom, Dad, your sister Paige Julia, and your dog Kaija!

"Hi, Momma"
Requisite snuggle time.

Bonus Photos:

Never enough snuggling.

Paige's first little brother hug! (This one will make a dual appearance, i am sure.  Still not sure how
